Description

The HGLND-CAT5J is a compact indoor DIN rail mountable lightning surge arrestor which provides protection for CAT5 data applications. The unit is fully compatible with industry-standard Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks, providing protection to both Ethernet data pairs as well as the PoE DC power feed. The unit supports both modes A and B of the 802.3af standard for of supplying DC power. Power can be fed up the CAT5 data pairs, 1-2, 3-6 or using the two unused pairs, 4-5, 7-8. The HGLND-CAT5J features shielded RJ45 jacks. This along with the metal housing helps reduce the effects of EMI interference. Additional features include a ground lug and terminal is provided directly on the lightning protector housing providing superior grounding. The unit also supports the use of shielded CAT5 cable. This unit can be mounted to a DIN 3 rail using the DIN mounting clip located on the rear of the unit. For additional information and complete specifications, click on the Data Sheet link below.
